Chetumal, Quintana Roo — The state government will auction more than 130 vehicles that have been retired from its administrative fleet, with the sale expected to take place in September, according to Adrián Díaz Villanueva, the state’s Chief Administrative Officer.
The vehicles were taken out of service because of their condition, age, or the end of their useful life for administrative duties, Díaz Villanueva said. He added that officials are currently working on the necessary documentation and procedures to hold the auction in an orderly manner and in compliance with existing regulations.
Díaz Villanueva said more than 130 vehicles owned by the state government have already been decommissioned and will be made available through the appropriate process. The auction is planned for September, pending the completion of administrative and technical steps to determine the condition of each vehicle.
He noted that the process allows the state to properly dispose of assets that are no longer functional for public administration and helps keep the official vehicle fleet updated and in better condition. The state will monitor each stage of the process to ensure the auction is conducted transparently and within legal guidelines, he said.
