Cancún, Quintana Roo — About 700 Quintana Roo taxpayers with outstanding tax debts could qualify for the 2026 Tax Regularization Program, which offers reductions of up to 100% on fines, surcharges, and collection costs.
Olga Molina, the state’s collection administrator, said the Tax Administration Service (SAT) conducted a preliminary review to identify taxpayers who meet the program’s requirements and sent invitation letters to potential beneficiaries.
So far, 245 applications related to tax credits have been filed in Quintana Roo, along with another 2,237 submitted as tax declarations. Of the tax-credit applications, 33 have been approved: 16 from businesses and 17 from individuals.
The program allows taxpayers to pay their remaining balance in up to six installments, with the final payment due in November. It also covers taxpayers who owe taxes but have not yet received a formal tax credit determination from authorities.
The benefit is available to individuals and businesses that earned up to 300 million pesos in total income in 2024 and meet other conditions outlined in the program’s rules. The tax authority said the program represents an opportunity for taxpayers to regularize their status and significantly reduce debts that have grown from accumulated fines and surcharges.
Molina encouraged taxpayers who received an invitation from the SAT to review their situation and take advantage of the program before the deadline. The application period closes October 31, 2026.
