Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — The Puerto Aventuras municipality is grappling with public lighting problems because its streetlights are too old, according to Julieta Martín Azueta, the Public Services Secretary in Playa del Carmen.
She added that the local housing developer, Grupo Vivo, did not leave the stock of materials it is required to provide when municipalization occurs. She noted this was an issue tied to the previous administration.
Regarding solid waste, she said authorities have already identified the owners of the property that housed the only open-air dump in the area, applied a sanction, and issued recommendations for correction.
She stated that garbage collection and junk removal units pass through daily, so there are no major issues in this municipality.
