José María Morelos, Quintana Roo — Three people were arrested and drugs were seized during a raid at the bar “El Hawai” in the community of Dziuché, the State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) confirmed Tuesday.

The operation, carried out Saturday, involved personnel from the Mexican Army, the National Guard, and state police. The bar is located on the Muna–Felipe Carrillo Puerto highway at the entrance to the town, opposite the former Hamsa grain warehouse.

Authorities seized a portable radio with charger, crystalline substance resembling crystal meth, and dried plant matter with characteristics of marijuana.

Those arrested were identified as Jorge Luis “N,” Marcelino “N,” and Alejandra Jacquelinne “N.” According to officials, they were found in possession of marijuana doses and solid fragments similar to crystal meth.

Preliminary investigations suggest the detainees are linked to a drug-dealing group considered a source of violence in the municipality.

Residents of Dziuché told authorities that the “El Hawai” bar had been closed for several years after its owner died, but reopened about six months ago. Locals said they did not know whether the premises had been rented.

In simultaneous operations in Playa del Carmen and Benito Juárez, four other people were arrested and various illicit substances were seized, the FGE reported.

The raided properties remain under police custody, and the detainees have been handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
