Bacalar, Quintana Roo — Authorities arrested two women and seized drugs, bank cards and a vehicle during a series of coordinated raids in Bacalar and Cancun, according to the State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE).

The three search warrants were carried out with support from the Mexican Army, Mexican Navy, National Guard and municipal police.

Raids in Bacalar

The first raid took place on Calle 24 between Avenidas 7 and 5 in Bacalar’s downtown area. Investigative police found grinders, dried plant material consistent with marijuana, a pink solid substance, bank cards and point-of-sale terminals at the property.

Outside the building, officers detained Mayra Alejandra “N” and Beatriz del Carmen “N.” The women were found carrying handbags, cellphones, marijuana and bags of white powder resembling cocaine.

The second raid in Bacalar was executed in the Diego Rojas Zapata neighborhood, where security forces seized a Chevrolet Aveo, a glass pipe, marijuana doses and additional point-of-sale terminals.

Raid in Cancun

Simultaneously, a third raid was carried out in the Paseos del Mar residential development, Supermanzana 251, in the Benito Juárez municipality of Cancun. There, officers seized dried green plant material.

Following the operations, the FGE placed seizure seals on all three properties, which remain under official custody.

The two detained women and all seized evidence were turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status within the time frame established by law.
