Young Man Severely Injured in Machete Attack During Brawl in Felipe Carrillo Puerto
Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — A young man suffered severe injuries early Monday after being attacked with a machete during a brawl in the Los Planes irregular settlement in the municipal seat of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours when a group of individuals were drinking alcohol on a dirt road in the neighborhood. According to witnesses, an argument escalated into a physical fight, during which the victim was struck multiple times with a machete, sustaining wounds across his body and nearly losing a finger.
Red Cross paramedics arrived at the scene and evaluated the young man, but he refused to be taken to the General Hospital despite the severity of his injuries, as he was intoxicated.
Municipal police officers also responded, but by the time they arrived, the alleged attacker had already fled the area. No arrests have been reported.
