Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — A woman remains hospitalized in critical condition after a violent assault in the community of Laguna Kana, in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The attack has raised alarm among residents of the Maya Zone, and authorities are pursuing several lines of investigation.
According to initial reports, the victim was found unconscious with multiple bruises and wounds across her body, including serious injuries to her face. Due to the severity of her condition, she was taken by emergency crews to the General Hospital of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, where she is receiving specialized care.
Investigators have not yet determined the exact location of the assault. Officials said they are working to establish whether the attack occurred inside a residence or in a public area.
Preliminary information suggests two men, who have reportedly already been identified, may be linked to the assault. Security forces are searching for the suspects and plan to hand them over to the appropriate authorities as the investigation file is compiled.
In parallel, investigators are also considering the possible commission of the crime of intimate aggression against the victim.
