Third Suspect Arrested in Tulum Murder Case

Police mugshot of Abimael N, alias El Chino, arrested for murder in Tulum

Tulum, Quintana Roo — Investigators from the State Prosecutor’s Office have arrested a third suspect in connection with a February homicide in Tulum, officials announced.

Abimael “N,” 28, alias “El Chino,” a native of the State of Mexico, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant for his alleged involvement in the murder of Martín “N.” The killing occurred on February 10 on Ágata Avenue in the Aldea Tulum complex.

According to the investigation, on February 9, Abimael allegedly located the victim near Aldea Tulum and then alerted another individual, who is believed to have carried out the murder.

On the day of the crime, Martín “N” was outside his apartment with two suitcases when “El Chino” reportedly informed his accomplices of the victim’s exact location.

Minutes later, the attackers arrived in a red Chevrolet Corsa. A man identified as Adán Israel “N,” alias “El Güero,” got out and allegedly shot Martín at least eight times, killing him at the scene.

Authorities said three people have now been arrested and charged in the case: Adán Israel “N,” Abimael “N,” and Moisés “N.”

The vehicle used in the attack was seized by investigators. After the homicide, the car was reportedly repainted blue to avoid detection.

Abimael “N” was brought before a judge, formally charged, and ordered to remain in pretrial detention for two years while the investigation continues.
