Cancún, Quintana Roo — Cuitláhuac Utrera González, better known as “Quick,” died Monday, leaving behind a more than 20-year career that made him an icon of Cancun radio and television.
The broadcaster, remembered for his signature sign-off “Bye Lulu,” was known for hosting “Quick Show,” a program that endeared him to listeners and linked his voice to the city’s identity.
Quick also made regular appearances on TVCUN, often sharing the screen with other local television personalities.
Over the last 25 years, he hosted music programs that left an impression on generations of Cancun residents, especially through his promotion of rock music.
In addition to his media career, Quick was an entrepreneur and an avid baseball fan, particularly of the Tigres de Quintana Roo.
According to unofficial reports, he lost his life after suffering a heart attack that sent him to the hospital.
Listeners and members of the media mourned his death, which was announced Monday night on social media.
