Playa del Carmen to Host 2026 Honey Fair

Beekeepers showcasing honey products at the 2026 Honey Fair in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The 2026 Honey Fair will take place Thursday and Friday at Parque Fundadores, bringing together honey producers from Playa del Carmen and across the state to showcase their products. The event will include a tasting session where visitors can sample and learn to distinguish different types of honey.

The fair was announced by Estefanía Hernández, secretary of economic development and investment attraction, who said it will also offer insight into the lives of beekeepers and help unify the community. As part of efforts to promote the local economy, 22 honey producers have already been trained to become part of Playa del Carmen’s identity, she said.

Santa Cecilia, a community northwest of the municipality, is home to the area’s main honey-producing community, with products already recognized under their own brands. Hernández said a new product is expected to be announced soon and will be sold at municipal markets.

Asked about the impact of hot weather on honey production, she said beekeepers have the tools and knowledge to manage such conditions and maintain their production year-round.
