Cancún, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo Tourism Infrastructure Institute (Infratur) has introduced a fee for renting public space to mobile sales units in Cancún’s Hotel Zone, opening the door to commercial activity in areas it administers along Kukulcan Boulevard and Playa Langosta.
The new 2026 fee schedule, published Aug. 14 in the state’s official gazette, includes a category for “rent of space for installation of mobile sales unit” at 14,000 pesos per month, plus value-added tax.
Infratur manages infrastructure and public spaces in the Hotel Zone, and both Kukulcan Boulevard and Playa Langosta are explicitly listed in the document.
The measure does not, however, amount to a blanket authorization for street vending across the Hotel Zone. It only sets fees for spaces controlled by Infratur and leaves unresolved key details: what products may be sold, what the mobile units must look like, where they can be placed, how many spaces are available, and what requirements interested vendors must meet.
The schedule also does not specify what role the Benito Juárez city government will play in granting municipal permits for such commercial activity.
Infratur’s governing board approved the fee schedule unanimously at its first regular session on March 31, 2026, and instructed Director General Ricardo Archundia Sánchez to arrange for its publication in the official gazette.
The schedule appeared in edition No. 15 of the gazette, dated Aug. 14, 2026.
