Farmer Kills Man With Machete After Fight in Felipe Carrillo Puerto
Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — A fight between two farmers on a street in the community of Chunhuas left one man dead Friday morning after one of the combatants attacked the other with a machete.
According to initial reports, the two men, who had a history of personal disputes, began fighting in the center of the community. When one of them began to get the upper hand, the other pulled out a machete and struck him repeatedly, causing fatal injuries.
Neighbors called emergency services, and paramedics from a rescue group in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, along with municipal police officers, arrived at the scene. They found a man lying on the ground with multiple wounds. After assessing him, they determined he had no vital signs and notified the State Prosecutor’s Office.
Later, forensic investigators, along with detectives from the Investigative Police and a state prosecutor, arrived to process the scene. They ordered the body transferred to the forensic medical service for an autopsy.
Municipal police officers arrested the alleged attacker, who was turned over to the appropriate authorities to determine responsibility.
