Police Arrest Young Man With Over 60 Drug Doses in Tulum

Tulum, Quintana Roo — An 18-year-old man was arrested in Tulum after police caught him in possession of more than 60 doses of suspected narcotics during a coordinated security operation.

The arrest resulted from joint efforts by the Tulum Public Security and Citizen Protection Department, the State Prosecutor’s Office, and the Mexican Army as part of ongoing patrols under the peace-building task force.

According to the official report, officers stopped and searched the suspect, identified as Luis Manuel “N,” who was allegedly carrying multiple doses of substances resembling narcotics and drugs, along with a bag wrapped in tan tape.

In total, authorities seized more than 63 doses of the substances. The suspect was caught red-handed and taken to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The detained individual and the seized items were handed over to the ministerial authority, which will open an investigation and determine his legal status within the time frames established by law.

Officials said they will continue to strengthen preventive patrols and operations to combat drug sales and distribution in the municipality.
