Children participating in summer activities at DIF Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The DIF Playa del Carmen system has opened registration for its summer course “Sin Tanto Choro” 2026, a program designed to provide children with a safe, recreational, and educational space during school break.

The course will run from July 20 to 31 at DIF facilities, targeting children aged 6 to 13. Activities take place Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Eduardo Asencio, honorary president of DIF Playa del Carmen, said the program aims to offer families an alternative where children can develop skills, strengthen values, and socialize in a healthy, safe, and inclusive environment. He noted that the initiative is part of the vision of Mayor Estefanía Mercado’s administration.

Participants will enjoy workshops in soccer, volleyball, crafts, arts, recreational games, cold cooking, chess, and English. Additional activities include child psychology, preventive dentistry, Mexican Sign Language, and children’s rights education.

The registration fee is 500 pesos, which includes a welcome kit with a T-shirt and thermos, plus a daily snack. Space is limited.

Registration takes place Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the DIF Playa del Carmen’s Villa Amarilla. Requirements include the child’s birth certificate and CURP, as well as the guardian’s identification.
