Puerto Morelos Grants 47 Women Entrepreneurs 15,000 Pesos Each Through Todas Crecemos Program

Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz delivers a symbolic check to a woman entrepreneur at the Todas Crecemos program ceremony in Puerto Morelos.

Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz presented grants from the first phase of Todas Crecemos (We All Grow), a program that gives 47 women entrepreneurs and artisans from the municipal seat and Leona Vicario 15,000 pesos each.

The program is funded entirely with municipal tax revenue and represents the 14th commitment fulfilled under the mayor’s “Palabra Cumplida” pledge this year. During the ceremony, Merari congratulated the beneficiaries for trusting in their projects and meeting the program’s requirements.

“We are returning the people’s money to the people,” Merari said. “We are handling public resources responsibly, meeting all our commitments, and we still have enough left to fund programs that support residents.”

Elena Gutiérrez Briceño, secretary of Economic Development and Regulatory Improvement, said women head 32.8 percent of occupied households in Puerto Morelos. The program seeks to reduce gaps in access to financing and ease the burden of unpaid care work, she added.

During the event, organizers delivered checks to representatives of the beneficiaries and formed a Social Oversight Committee, chaired by Nallely Bastida Sánchez, to oversee the transparent and proper use of the public resources awarded to artisans and business owners.
