Mototaxi Driver Arrested on Chiapas Warrant for Child Sexual Abuse

Police arrest of a mototaxi driver wanted for child sexual abuse in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo.

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Police arrested a 40-year-old mototaxi driver wanted in Chiapas for aggravated child sexual abuse after a routine inspection revealed an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

Authorities identified the suspect as Víctor Antonio N. He had been living in the Villas del Sol neighborhood for about four years and worked as a mototaxi driver, officials said.

Officers with the Public Security Department were on patrol when they carried out a routine check of the man. He appeared nervous while providing his identification, so the officers entered his information into the system.

The search showed that Chiapas authorities had been seeking him since 2022. Agents then double-checked his details in the Unified Criminal Information System (SUIC) on Plataforma México, which confirmed the active warrant.

Court records indicated that the man was wanted for his alleged involvement in aggravated child sexual abuse in Chiapas. The arrest order was issued by a control judge for the judicial districts of Pichucalco and Simojovel.

Víctor Antonio N. was turned over to the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine his legal status and coordinate his transfer to Chiapas, where he must answer to the court on the charges that led to the warrant.
