Mexico City — Elton John will return to Mexico for two concerts at Estadio Banorte on October 2 and 3, marking his first performances in the country since 2012.
The British singer announced the shows as part of his ongoing Farewell Tour, which was interrupted by the pandemic before he could tour Latin America.
“Mexico City has always held a special place in my heart,” John said in a statement. “It was very disappointing that the pandemic prevented me from touring Latin America during my farewell tour, which makes this return especially meaningful.”
Presale access for Rocket Club members begins Wednesday, July 15 at 12:00 p.m. Mexico City time. General ticket sales start Thursday, July 16 at the same time.
John last performed in Mexico in March 2012, with shows at Jalisco’s Estadio Omnilife and in Mexico City as part of his Greatest Hits Tour.
