Third Crash in Five Days on Highway 307 Brings Death Toll to Two

A vehicle lies overturned on Federal Highway 307 after a head-on collision near Noh-Bec, Quintana Roo.

Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — A head-on collision early Friday was the third traffic accident in five days on Federal Highway 307, authorities said.

The crash occurred at about 1:30 a.m. on the Reforma Agraria–Puerto Juárez section, at the turnoff to the community of Noh-Bec. Both vehicles were declared total losses after the impact, and one came to rest overturned in the travel lane.

No serious injuries were reported at the scene. The accident follows two other crashes on the same highway since Monday — one near Uh May and another close to the town of Andrés Quintana Roo. Those two incidents left two people dead, bringing the week’s death toll on the highway to two.

National Guard highway officers arrived to cordon off the area, manage traffic and arrange for the vehicles to be towed to an impound lot. The case was handed over to the State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) to determine responsibility.
