Suspect Known as ‘Alexis’ Arrested in Cancun on Drug Charges, Linked to Robberies

Cancun, Quintana Roo — Security forces arrested a man identified as Jair Alexis “N” in Cancun on drug-related charges and are investigating his possible involvement in multiple robberies targeting pedestrians in Benito Juarez.

The arrest occurred during patrols under the “Blindaje Cancun” operation in the Supermanzana 73 area. The State Prosecutor’s Office reported that the suspect was riding a motorcycle on CTM and Lombardo Toledano avenues when officers from the National Guard, Navy, Army, and Municipal Police stopped him for a preventive inspection.

During the search, authorities found several items and suspected illicit substances in Jair Alexis’s possession. He was turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office to determine his legal status.

  • Marijuana doses
  • Granulated substance resembling crystal meth
  • Solid substance with characteristics of crack cocaine
  • Motorcycle

Preliminary investigations indicate the suspect may be linked to several robberies in Cancun, primarily targeting women whom he allegedly intimidated using the replica firearm.

The Quintana Roo Prosecutor’s Office said investigations are ongoing to determine if Jair Alexis participated in other recent crimes in Benito Juarez. Authorities urged anyone who may have been a victim of a crime to file a complaint with the appropriate authorities.
