Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo — The municipality of Puerto Morelos will host the fourth edition of the Beach Volleyball Festival from May 15 to 17, bringing together more than 150 teams from various countries and cementing its status as one of the most important tournaments in the region.
During a press conference led by Gabriela Rivera, a member of the organizing committee, and Karina Vázquez, director of Sustainable Tourism, officials announced details of the event, which continues to grow in participation and tourism impact.
Matches will be held daily from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. across nine courts set up for the competition.
The official opening ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, May 16 at 11:00 a.m., while the awards and closing ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m.
The tournament is expected to surpass figures from previous editions, highlighting international participation and the economic boost it brings to the destination by attracting athletes and high-spending visitors.
According to the information presented, teams from Argentina, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Canada, Colombia, the United States, and Peru will participate, along with representatives from various Mexican states, strengthening the event’s international character.
The event is supported by the municipal government led by Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz, reinforcing the strategy to position Puerto Morelos as a benchmark for sports tourism in the Mexican Caribbean.
