Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — Alicia Ricalde Magaña, honorary president of the Isla Mujeres DIF (family welfare agency), hosted the organization’s traditional Oaxacan regional breakfast to raise funds for the Center for Diabetes Prevention and Care (CEPAD).
The event brought together community members in a space of conviviality and solidarity, contributing to a cause focused on the care and prevention of diabetes. Proceeds from the breakfast will go toward strengthening the services offered by CEPAD, a municipal government initiative led by Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde that provides island families with specialized, accessible, and quality medical care.
CEPAD represents one of the current administration’s fulfilled commitments, consolidating a space dedicated to the prevention, detection, and treatment of diabetes, and contributing to the health and well-being of the population.
During the event, Ricalde Magaña recognized the participation and solidarity of those who joined the activity, noting that community collaboration helps strengthen efforts that generate well-being for the municipality’s families.
