Martí Batres Guadarrama, the director general of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE), recently unveiled a new initiative as part of the institute's 25-point transformation plan. Among these points was the Fourth Transformation Tourist Package (4T), a social tourism package designed to capitalize on Mexico's new airport infrastructure.

The 4T package aims to promote tourism by leveraging the facilities at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), the Maya Train rail system, and the Defense Hotels, as well as the archaeological and cultural sites of the 4T. Although the package was just announced, the specifics, including costs, have not yet been released. These details are expected to be made available on the official Government of Mexico channels in the upcoming weeks.

Guadarrama explained that the 4T Tourist Package is a result of the infrastructure built during President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's term. "We have named this the 4T Tourist Package. It begins at AIFA, includes travel on Mexicana de Aviación, arrival at Tulum Airport, accommodation in the Maya Train hotels, and travel on the Maya Train. All this infrastructure from the Fourth Transformation is included in the 4T Tourist Package," he said.

Here's a brief overview of the 4T Tourist Package:

  • Departure from AIFA: The journey starts at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport.
  • Flights on Mexicana de Aviación: Passengers are transferred to destinations in southeastern Mexico.
  • Arrival in Tulum: The flight lands at Tulum airport.
  • Maya Train Hotels: Accommodation is provided in the new hotels operated by the military.
  • Travel on the Maya Train: The package includes a tour of the train routes.
