Carlos Dionicio 'N' and Jorge Luis 'N', father and son, for their alleged involvement in a real estate fraud case in Quintana Roo

Cancún, Quintana Roo — A judge has ordered a father and son to stand trial for their alleged involvement in a real estate fraud scheme that targeted property buyers in Quintana Roo.

Carlos Dionicio ‘N’ and Jorge Luis ‘N’ were formally charged after the state prosecutor’s office presented evidence linking them to fraudulent real estate transactions. Authorities allege the pair deceived multiple victims who made payments or investments expecting to acquire properties in the state.

During the hearing, the judge ruled there was sufficient evidence to proceed with the case. The investigation will now move to a complementary phase to determine the extent of each defendant’s responsibility.

Real estate fraud has become a growing concern in Quintana Roo, driven by a boom in housing developments and investment projects. Buyers have increasingly reported broken promises, irregular sales, and suspected scams.

Prosecutors continue to investigate to establish the total financial impact and identify any additional victims. The legal process is ongoing.
