Two Bodies Found in Playa del Carmen, Believed to Be Honduran

Police officers securing a crime scene in the Las Torres neighborhood of Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The decomposing bodies of two men, believed to be Honduran nationals, were discovered Thursday in the irregular settlement of Las Torres, near the fourth tower.

Residents alerted police after noticing a foul odor coming from the area. Officers arrived at the scene, confirmed the find, and cordoned off the zone for investigation by the State Prosecutor’s Office, which also handled the removal of the bodies.

The case was handled discreetly, with no official information released until Saturday.

On Tuesday, two other bodies with gunshot wounds were found in the same settlement, between the third and fourth towers.
