Tulum, Quintana Roo — The Tulum Municipality continues with the execution of the loan authorized by the City Council for a total amount of 76 million pesos, of which 50 million have so far been contracted with the banking institution Banorte, municipal treasurer Vicente Francisco Aldape Moncada reported.
The official explained that the financing agreement was finalized on December 15, following an analysis of the different options available in the financial market. “It was the institution that had the best market conditions. We already have a loan contracted for 50 million pesos,” he stated.
He detailed that most of these resources were allocated to the payment of year-end bonuses and the fulfillment of the municipality’s employer obligations with its workers. The remainder of the contracted amount is still in the process of being defined regarding its final destination, which will be announced once administrative priorities are determined.
Regarding the complaints expressed by some municipal employees concerning the payment of year-end bonuses, Aldape Moncada assured that the situation has already been addressed and resolved. He indicated that unionized workers held direct meetings with the Human Resources Department, where the issues were clarified and agreements were reached.
“The misunderstanding that existed has already been clarified and as of this date, the payment of the money has been fully covered,” affirmed the treasurer, specifying that the problem originated from an error in the payment list, a situation that was corrected after dialogue between the involved parties.
However, he noted that to know the technical details about the dates and processes for disbursing the resources, the chief administrative officer would be able to provide more precise information.
It should be recalled that on October 1, 2025, during the Twenty-Fifth Ordinary Session of the Tulum Municipality, the City Council approved the contracting of a loan for a total amount of 76 million pesos, with the objective of strengthening municipal finances and fulfilling labor and administrative commitments.
