Quintana Roo, Mexico — Quintana Roo delivered its best-ever performance at the Conade 2026 National Olympiad, securing a record 83 gold medals and a total of 233 medals to finish sixth in the national standings.
The state delegation surpassed its previous gold medal record of 79 set in 2024, confirming its place among Mexico’s top 10 sports powerhouses. The final tally included 54 silver and 96 bronze medals.
Officials attributed the success to months of preparation and coordinated work among athletes, coaches, families, and sports institutions.
Quintana Roo reaffirmed its national dominance in sailing and speed skating. The state also made history by winning its first national championship in chess, collecting five gold and two silver medals.
Individual standouts included Oliver Lund Centelles, who set a new national record in the 50-meter backstroke, and Damon Bissokot Hernández, who broke two records in athletics. Suryansh Negi earned Quintana Roo’s first-ever badminton medal, a bronze. In taekwondo, José de Jesús Bravo Ramírez won gold and was named the best athlete in his category.
