Concrete Truck Nearly Tips Over in Playa del Carmen, Damages Parked Truck

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A concrete pump truck nearly overturned Saturday morning in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood, striking a parked pickup truck and leaving residents shaken but causing no injuries.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. on Calle 70 between Avenidas 30 and 35, where the truck had arrived to pour concrete for a home’s slab. According to neighbors, one of the vehicle’s stabilizers was improperly positioned when the operator began the maneuver, causing the multi-ton truck to tilt onto its left side.

The truck’s telescopic boom came to rest against internet and cable television lines, prompting neighbors to call 911. The crew managed to stabilize the truck and return it to an upright position.

Municipal traffic officers arrived minutes later and documented damage to a parked pickup truck that the heavy vehicle had hit as it leaned. No injuries were reported.

The truck later left the scene, leaving a large amount of concrete on the pavement that residents scooped up and carried home.
