Photography Exhibition ‘One World, Seven Perspectives’ Opens at Cozumel Museum

Photography exhibition One World Seven Perspectives at the Museum of the Island in Cozumel

Cozumel, Quintana Roo — The Foundation of Parks and Museums of Cozumel (FPMC) has invited the public to the opening of the photography exhibition “One World, Seven Perspectives,” a group show featuring seven photographers.

The exhibition brings together work by Aiyana Alcala, Tati Biermas, Laura Cochran, Adonay Saucedo, Paul Von der Heyden, Sharon Hansen and Telmo Villanueva. It will open Friday, August 21 at 8 p.m. at the Museum of the Island, with free admission.

“Photographers have the ability to go beyond the obvious and find unique compositions through light, shadows, colors, textures and the moments they capture,” said Isela Carrillo Cupul, director of the Museum of the Island. “This exhibition allows the public to explore seven different perspectives of the world around us.”

Carrillo Cupul added that the exhibition also encourages reflection on the role of photography today, a medium now within reach of nearly everyone that allows individuals to express their own interpretation of reality.

The exhibition’s layout was designed by museographer Satoko Kitamura, who arranged the works to foster dialogue among the artists’ distinct visions. According to the museum, the photographers have found in the Museum of the Island a space to share their work.

The museum director reiterated the invitation to the opening, scheduled for Friday, August 21 at 8 p.m. at the Museum of the Island. Admission is free.

The exhibition poses a simple but profound question: “How will you frame your world?”
