Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The municipal government of Playa del Carmen, led by Mayor Estefanía Mercado, held the 16th Municipal Job Fair and Labor Services for Prosperity at the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood dome, aiming to bring formal employment opportunities to residents.
Organized by the Secretariat of Economic Development and Investment Attraction, the fair offered more than 661 vacancies from 11 companies across various sectors, reflecting the area’s economic dynamism and business confidence.
Estefanía Hernández, Secretary of Economic Development, said the event brought together companies, institutions, and recruiters in one space to facilitate direct contact with job seekers, who could access information on vacancies, requirements, selection processes, and other labor services.
In addition to job offers, participating agencies provided free services and guidance, including immediate issuance of non-registry background checks by the State Prosecutor’s Office, free medical certificates from the DIF (Family Development System), and promotion of services from the Civil Registry and the Recruitment Board.
Hernández emphasized that the administration prioritizes creating opportunities for local families through actions that promote labor inclusion, competitiveness, and local economic development, and that these fairs help streamline the connection between labor supply and demand.
