Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A woman riding a motorcycle died Saturday afternoon after she was run over by a Coca-Cola truck near the Las Palmas 1 residential development, authorities said.
The victim was traveling along Avenida Constituyente when she went under the truck from the side at the intersection with Plumbago Street, apparently after a bad maneuver by one of the two parties. The driver, who did not see her in time, ran over her with the rear tire, killing her.
Traffic agents arrived and cordoned off the area, while paramedics confirmed the woman had died. Officers from the State Prosecutor’s Office detained the truck driver while authorities determine responsibility.
