Mexico City — President Claudia Sheinbaum announced Monday that Mexico has signed an agreement with pharmaceutical companies Birmex, Liomont and Moderna to develop vaccines against dengue and cancer.
“There will be joint scientific research development by Mexican researchers to develop other vaccines that interest us, such as against dengue and even against cancer,” the president said in a video shared on her social media accounts.
Sheinbaum detailed that the agreement involves Mexico’s Health Ministry and aims to position the country as a scientific power. She noted that Moderna is one of the global companies that produces mRNA vaccines against COVID-19.
