Eliazar 'N', the head of the Tulum taxi drivers' union, is facing accusations of murder and attempted murder.
State Attorney General's Office (FGE) officials confirmed that Eliazar 'N' has been placed under house arrest in Playa del Carmen. This follows hours of online speculation about his legal status.
Eliazar 'N' is the general secretary of the "Caribbean Sharks" taxi drivers' union and the state leader of the United Front of Steering Wheel Workers. He is currently under investigation for his alleged involvement in the murder and attempted murder of four individuals in the Tulum municipality. The identities of the victims have been withheld.
In addition to house arrest, a Control Judge has ordered Eliazar 'N' to wear an electronic ankle monitor. This precautionary measure will be in place throughout the duration of his house arrest. The authorities have a three-month period to complete their investigations.
