Cancun, Quintana Roo — A group of hotel guests in Cancun reported that their belongings were stolen from their room at a Hacienda hotel in the Supermanzana 22 area.
The guests said they left the hotel to run errands and returned hours later to find their possessions missing. Only items they had carried with them remained.
When they notified hotel staff, they said employees claimed no knowledge of the incident and told them to file a complaint with authorities. The guests expressed frustration, saying the hotel showed no willingness to help resolve the matter.
Police arrived at the scene but informed the guests that since no suspects were present, they would need to file a formal complaint with the State Prosecutor’s Office to open an investigation.
Investigators are expected to review security camera footage, analyze room access logs, and interview staff and guests to determine how the theft occurred and identify those responsible.
No official estimate of the stolen items’ value has been released, and the identities of the affected guests have not been disclosed.
