Five Construction Workers Thrown From Truck Bed After Crash on Highway 307
Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Five construction workers were thrown from the bed of a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon after a speeding car rear-ended them on Federal Highway 307 near the Sirenis hotel, authorities said.
The workers were riding in the back of a Nissan Frontier when the impact sent them flying onto the shoulder and into roadside vegetation. Despite the violent ejection, none of the men suffered serious injuries, according to officials.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and provided first aid to the workers. National Guard officers cordoned off the area and are handling the investigation to determine responsibility.
The crash caused traffic slowdowns in both directions on the Puerto Aventuras-Tulum stretch of the highway.
