Homeless man emerges bleeding after fight in Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A fight between homeless individuals sparked a police and emergency response Sunday night in the Luis Donaldo Colosio neighborhood, after an injured man emerged from an abandoned building seeking help.

The incident occurred on Calle 92 at the corner of Avenida 10, where residents and passersby saw a bloodied man walking with difficulty and called 911.

According to initial reports, the man was injured during a brawl among homeless people hours earlier inside an abandoned property often used as a makeshift shelter.

Witnesses said the injured man stayed inside the building after the fight, apparently trying to endure the pain, but eventually went out to the street when his condition worsened.

Officers from the Public Security Department arrived to verify the report and, after confirming the man had multiple injuries, requested paramedics to provide pre-hospital care.

An ambulance soon arrived, and paramedics assessed the victim before transporting him to the General Hospital of Playa del Carmen for specialized medical attention.

Authorities have not officially disclosed the severity of his injuries, but sources said he was conscious when treated.

No arrests were made, as the attack occurred before police arrived and there was no precise information on the whereabouts of the assailants. The victim is a homeless person who regularly took shelter in the abandoned building. Police conducted patrols in the area to try to locate the suspects.
