Gunmen attack bar in Playa del Carmen, one injured

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Gunmen in a Dodge Durango fired multiple shots at the Babies Hot bar early Monday morning, wounding a worker, authorities said.

The attack occurred on Calle 4 at the Boulevard Playa del Carmen intersection. Patrons and employees called 911 after hearing gunshots, requesting paramedics and police to secure the scene.

Paramedics treated the bar’s bouncer at the scene before transporting him to the General Hospital for specialized care.

Police cordoned off the area to preserve evidence, finding at least four spent shell casings at the scene.

Authorities launched a search operation for the suspects, but no arrests were made. The attackers reportedly fled, taking advantage of a lack of surveillance in the area.
