Cozumel, Q. Roo — The Quintana Roo State Attorney General's Office, in coordination with the Mexican National Defense Secretariat, the Mexican Navy, and the National Guard, secured drugs, weapons, and cartridges during two raids executed in the municipalities of Cozumel and Benito Juárez.
According to official statement 186/2025-FDC, the procedures were carried out after obtaining the corresponding judicial orders from control judges. These orders were executed simultaneously as part of strategic actions to combat retail drug dealing.
In the first operation, conducted at a property on Federico Alcérreca street in the Félix González Canto neighborhood of Cozumel, agents located green and dry plant matter with the characteristics of marijuana, usable cartridges, a firearm, and a whitish substance suspected to be a narcotic.
Meanwhile, in the second raid, carried out at a dwelling on Puerto Rico street in Supermanzana 216 of the Las Islas subdivision in Cancún, authorities found two scales and dry plant matter with the characteristic properties of marijuana.
Once the procedures concluded, the participating officers placed seizure seals on both properties, which were placed under the custody of the ministerial authority. The secured objects and substances were made available to the public prosecutor's office to integrate the corresponding investigation files.
The State Attorney General's Office reiterated its commitment to work in a coordinated manner with federal and military forces to guarantee security and combat crimes related to drug trafficking in Quintana Roo.
