Sucilá, Yucatán — A 26-year-old woman was involved in a single-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on the Tizimín-Mérida federal highway, after she lost control of her car and overturned into roadside vegetation.
The accident occurred near kilometer 132 on the Sucilá–Buctzotz stretch, according to initial reports. The driver, identified as Ángela B. Sosa C., was traveling from Tizimín toward Mérida in a gray Chevrolet with Yucatán plates YJZ-353-H when she lost control for reasons still unknown, left the asphalt, and overturned in the brush.
Emergency responders — including Sucilá municipal police, officers from the Yucatán Public Security Department (SSP), firefighters, and paramedics — rushed to the scene after an initial report that the driver was trapped inside the vehicle. Upon arrival, they confirmed that she was not pinned.
National Guard highway division personnel later took charge of the scene and conducted the necessary investigations to determine responsibility.
