Body of Man With Gunshot Wounds Found in Cancun

Cancun, Quintana Roo — The body of a man with multiple gunshot wounds was discovered Monday morning in a dirt-road area of the El Milagro neighborhood, near the Cancun-Merida highway.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting a person lying on a path parallel to Gas Auto Avenue. Upon arriving, officers found a man face down with blood stains on his head.

Emergency services confirmed the victim had no vital signs. According to initial reports, the man was wearing dark clothing and remains unidentified.

Officers cordoned off the area as the State Prosecutor’s Office began its investigation. Forensic personnel later removed the body for transfer to the morgue, where officials expect to identify him in the coming hours.
