Authorities Seize Truck With Drugs and Weapons Near Tulum

A Nissan truck seized by authorities near Tulum, containing drugs and firearm magazines

Tulum, Quintana Roo — Investigators from the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office, working alongside the Mexican Army and municipal police, seized a truck containing drugs, firearm magazines, and tactical clothing on the Nuevo Durango-Cobá highway near Tulum.

Officers on patrol near the Nuevo Durango ejido spotted a Nissan truck parked improperly with its doors open in front of a green area. During inspection, they found doses of green, dry plant material resembling marijuana and a brown solid substance consistent with the drug known as moly on the front passenger and rear seats.

Inside the vehicle, authorities also discovered tactical clothing, firearm magazines, and live cartridges. The truck and all items inside were secured.
