Officials signing the Violeta Agreement between AMEXME Riviera Maya and the Women's Institute of Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — AMEXME Riviera Maya chapter signed a Violeta Agreement with the Women’s Institute of Playa del Carmen to promote women’s economic empowerment and prevent gender-based violence through business development.

The agreement was signed by Idania Cristina Gamboa Medina, director general of the Women’s Institute of Playa del Carmen, and Valeria Rindertsma, president of AMEXME Riviera Maya. Witnesses included Estefanía Hernández, secretary of economic development and investment attraction for Playa del Carmen; Diana Alejandra Espadas Villanueva, legal director of the institute; and Carla Adriana Toledo Oliver, first vice president of AMEXME Riviera Maya.

Under the agreement, both institutions will collaborate on training, workshops, and initiatives aimed at strengthening business skills, leadership, management, business development, and personal growth for women entrepreneurs in the municipality.

Planned actions include lectures and training sessions with a business and gender perspective delivered by AMEXME Riviera Maya members, as well as programs focused on fostering economic autonomy, leadership, and opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

The agreement also seeks to help reduce the gender gap in the economic and labor spheres by providing practical tools and knowledge to help women turn ideas into viable and sustainable business projects.

The alliance will remain in effect until September 2027 and represents a strategic step toward building support networks, training, and development for women in Playa del Carmen.
