Man Stabbed Six Times Defending His Children in Cancun

Cancun, Quintana Roo — A man was stabbed six times in the back outside his apartment Friday afternoon after confronting a suspect who was yelling at his two young children, authorities said.

Emergency services received a report of a stabbing on Isla La Pasión street in the Paseos del Mar neighborhood. Municipal police arrived to find the victim injured.

According to witnesses, the attacker, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs, began shouting at two children aged 2 and 3 who were outside the building. When the father came out to confront him, the suspect attacked him with a knife, stabbing him repeatedly in the back.

The assailant fled in a gray Volkswagen Polo with Quintana Roo license plates. His whereabouts remain unknown.

The victim was taken to the IMSS Specialty Hospital for emergency treatment.
