Tulum, Quintana Roo — A 14-year-old girl has been reported missing in the municipality of Tulum, prompting authorities to activate search protocols and seek public assistance.

Esmeralda Gomez Frias was last seen on July 2, 2026, according to the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office. A missing person alert was issued under the state’s Alba Protocol and the national Amber Alert system after a formal complaint was filed the same day.

The prosecutor’s office described Gomez Frias as a Mexican national with light skin, a slim build, black straight shoulder-length hair, and dark brown eyes. She stands approximately 1.25 meters (4 feet 1 inch) tall and weighs about 30 kilograms (66 pounds). She has no visible distinguishing marks.

At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing a gray short-sleeved shirt, black shorts, and black sandals.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to call 998 881 7150, extension 2130, and cautioned against spreading unconfirmed details that could hinder the search.
