Tulum, Quintana Roo — Two men sustained first and second-degree burns after they swerved to avoid an oncoming truck, lost control of their vehicle, and crashed, resulting in a fire that completely consumed the car. The incident occurred on the Nuevo Durango-Cobá state highway at kilometer 11.
A Fiery Crash After Evasive Maneuver
The events unfolded when the individuals, attempting to avoid a collision with a truck approaching at high speed, performed an evasive maneuver that caused their vehicle to leave the paved road. After leaving the highway, the car struck a rocky area, which triggered a fire that entirely consumed the unit.
Despite the severity of the situation, the two occupants managed to exit the vehicle on their own. A motorist traveling through the area stopped to provide assistance, transporting the injured to the Cobá Delegation.
At the scene, paramedics from various ambulances provided immediate medical attention, stabilizing the patients before transferring them to a hospital for specialized treatment.
