PLAYA DEL CARMEN — A significant police and emergency services mobilization occurred on Sunday night in the Colosio neighborhood, on Avenida 25 at Calle 108, following a reported altercation that unfortunately ended with one person dead.
According to initial reports, the victim was allegedly wounded with a bladed weapon during the dispute. The initial alert was issued through the 911 emergency number, which reported an injured man on a public street.
Paramedics and security personnel arrived at the scene and confirmed that the individual no showed no vital signs, leading officials to proceed only with securing the crime scene.
The Municipal Police established a security perimeter to preserve evidence, while neighbors in the area watched in astonishment as various units arrived. Moments later, personnel from the State Attorney General's Office arrived at the site to carry out the corresponding procedures, including the removal of the body and the opening of an investigation file.
The identity of the victim has not been released, nor has it been confirmed if any individuals have been detained in connection with this violent incident.
