Cancun, Quintana Roo — Two people were injured in separate shooting incidents that occurred almost simultaneously Friday night in different parts of the city, triggering a large-scale response from security and rescue services.
According to initial reports received by emergency services, Red Cross paramedics attended both scenes to provide first aid and then transported the victims to the General Hospital for medical treatment.
The first incident took place in the vicinity of Supermanzana 311 on Naranjos Street, between Prolongacion La Luna Avenue and Guayacan Avenue. Preliminary police reports indicate that a man resisted an armed robbery attempt by unknown assailants, who then shot him and fled. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the robbery was completed or the value of any stolen items.
The second violent incident occurred simultaneously in the streets of Supermanzana 230. Initial investigations by police officers at the scene suggest it was a direct attack with a firearm against a citizen.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that one person has been detained in connection with the incidents, but public security authorities have not officially confirmed the arrest. Further details are expected from the State Prosecutor’s Office as investigations continue.
