Cancun, Quintana Roo — The Quintana Roo Mobility Institute (Imoveqroo) has started issuing the Mobi social fare card in Cancun, letting students, older adults and people with disabilities ride the city’s new Route 27 Puente Nichupte bus line for free or at a reduced rate.
Imoveqroo director Rafael Hernández Kotasek said the card is linked to the new electronic payment system and automatically identifies qualifying riders. Under the program, people with disabilities travel at no cost, while students aged 6 and older and senior citizens pay a preferential fare.
The initiative is part of Governor Mara Lezama’s effort to make public transit in Quintana Roo more accessible, inclusive and technologically advanced.
