Tulum, Quintana Roo — Mayor Diego Castañón Trejo inaugurated the rehabilitation and expansion of the Casa de la Salud (Health House) in the Sahcab Mucuy delegation, a project aimed at improving access to basic health services for the Maya community.

The project, which was a priority request from local residents, includes the renovation and expansion of the reception area, treatment room, consultation office, pharmacy, bathroom, and a medical residence. The residence will allow health personnel to stay in the community and provide timely care when needed.

“We came earlier to listen to you and learn about the most important needs; today we return with results and actions, addressing a basic need. We will continue moving forward to close inequality gaps and create better conditions for everyone,” Castañón said during the event.

Delegada Sandra Dzib Canul expressed satisfaction on behalf of the families of Sahcab Mucuy, noting that the community now has a more dignified and functional space to receive medical attention without having to travel to other delegations.

Christian Moguel, director general of Infrastructure, reported that the work included the expansion and rehabilitation of key areas. He added that the clinic will continue to be equipped in the coming weeks, with administrative procedures already underway.
