Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — A federal judge has ordered three people to stand trial on drug charges following a raid in the Villas del Sol neighborhood, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) announced.

The suspects — identified as Carolina “N,” Manuel “N,” and Roberto “N” — were arrested during a search warrant execution at a home in the Solidaridad municipality. The operation stemmed from an anonymous email tip reporting ongoing drug sales at the property.

Federal prosecutors opened an investigation and obtained the warrant, which was carried out by agents from the Federal Ministerial Police (PFM) and experts from the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC). The Mexican Army (SEDENA), Navy (SEMAR), and National Guard provided perimeter security.

During the search, authorities seized 131.001 grams of marijuana and 1.008 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride.

The three suspects and the drugs were turned over to federal prosecutors. At the hearing, prosecutors presented evidence that led the judge to rule the arrest lawful and issue the formal charges.

The judge imposed pretrial detention on the three defendants, who will remain in custody while the case proceeds on charges of drug possession with intent to distribute.
