Cancun, Quintana Roo — Three men were arrested during a security operation in Cancun’s Region 260, where authorities seized a loaded firearm, suspected drugs, and a motorcycle reported stolen.
The suspects, identified as Juan Francisco N., 26; Camilo N., 38; and Irving Oswaldo N., 21, were taken into custody as part of the Blindaje Cancun program. They have been handed over to the State Prosecutor’s Office, which is investigating their possible involvement in several violent robberies in the city.
One line of inquiry links them to an assault last weekend in Region 251, near Obsidiana Avenue and Galápago Street, where a young man was attacked after resisting a robbery. Another lead stems from a 911 call reporting three individuals on a cross-style motorcycle matching the description of the seized vehicle.
The operation was a joint effort by Cancun Police, the State Prosecutor’s Office, the National Guard, the Mexican Army, and the Mexican Navy.
During the arrest, officers confiscated several doses of dried plant material resembling cannabis, a 9mm pistol loaded with 14 rounds, and a red-and-black 2025 Vento Crossmax 300 motorcycle that had been reported stolen.
